What more can you say?  After a week of the gloominess, it sure turned out to be a wonderful weekend. Preparations for Fall began this weekend. I know, crazy right? Well, we did plant the field corn for our corn mazes and haunted nighttime rides. And also added additional parking for our annual Fall Festival that draws thousands every year. Now we’ll have parking for even more families, so less have to be disappointed that they couldn’t find parking. Problem solved!

Strawberries were the #1 pick by the customers this weekend. Our own homegrown berries have arrived, just in time for all those wonderful recipes. Stop in to the market and pick up the “Farmer’s Favorites”, a weekly recipe made with whatever veggie or fruit happens to be in season. This week’s pick, Sautéed garlic and spinach in olive oil. If you can’t make it in, you can get the recipe off our website.

The freshest pick from the farmer this week is: zucchini, strawberries, scallions, spinach, lettuce, asparagus, Savoy cabbage, turnips, cucumbers, rhubarb and snow peas. It doesn’t get any fresher than just picked, so stop in and get some!!

Summer hours have begun…that means we’re now open til 7pm. I know that makes a lot of you happy, since it’s tough to get here after work, so for the next 3 months, you can make it with time to spare. So remember…
