Well, if you haven’t looked at the calendar lately, the 4^th of July holiday is fast approaching and will be on us in a matter of days. Unfortunately, it looks as if a lot of you won’t get that extra day off, since the holiday falls on the weekend…but we hope you all enjoy it anyway. And I hope we can put a smile on your face when I tell you, “yes, our corn will be in for this weekend”! Everyone has been anxiously awaiting it and it is finally here!

We also will be open every day this weekend from 10-7. No holiday for us…just the freshest of our best homegrown veggies to grace your picnic or dinner table. Keep us in mind for all your picnic needs…

The sunshine has sure put a smile on the face of the farmer…as we all worked very hard this week to get the last of the major crops planted. Happiness spread through the store as the last of the soybeans were planted on Friday. This weekend he has been back in the fields planting more cantaloupes, tomatoes and yes at least 2 more plantings of sweet corn will go in before he puts the planter away for the year.

Cabbage, tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, string beans, peas, turnips, and potatoes are here and ready for you. Also, black raspberries and fresh blueberries are in…what a sweet taste of summer. Sadly, the last of the strawberries will finish this week. It was a difficult season for the strawberries, due to the crummy weather, but hopefully you got to enjoy them while they were here…
