Subject: MARCH MADNESS

Of course most of you will be thinking Villanova and the final four. Unfortunately for Villanova, there won’t be a championship. However, I am referring to the beautiful weather and the many tasks that come with it. Second plantings of peas and spinach for example, or the never ending baskets and planters being requested for Easter. Don’t forget the spring cleanup outdoors, or the first cutting of the grass and weeding of the flowerbeds. Whatever you found time to accomplish this weekend…I truly hope you got to enjoy Sunday’s glorious weather.

Easter flowers will be arriving all week, with myself busy making beautiful flower baskets and cemetery logs. So many flowers will be available , tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, hydrangeas and azaleas to only name a few. Stop by to get a look at our selection, which will grow every day! Fruit baskets make a great gift and can be pre-ordered with a 24 hour notice. Let me know if you’re interested.

Our customers certainly were out this weekend… planting pansies and outdoor yard work seemed to be on the mind of a lot of you. Fresh produce was a hot ticket also this weekend, grilling or barbequing the hot choice of many who stopped by to shop.

Reppert’s candy and merckins melting chocolates, for those making their own handmade candy, were also a popular pick. Be sure to get yours if you haven’t already.

Our asparagus patch is coming to life with the first heads popping through the ground. It won’t be long before our backs ache and we all try to get someone else to do the picking…the first times are always the most fun…with the 20 or 30 times after being not so much…

Pansies, primroses and some early cold weather flowers await you, along with beautiful hanging baskets to decorate this spring.

As I take a break from the newsletter next week, let us extend our warmest wishes if you celebrate Easter. Our hope is that you enjoy the time with family and friends and good food. We will be open on Easter…from approximately 9-3, for all your last minute flower needs…

I will talk to you in 2 weeks…so until then…EAT FRESH..BUY LOCAL.. AND SHOP THE FARMER’S DAUGHTER
